CYBERCRIME AND FORENSICS ENGAGEMENTS IN SYCHELLES
We are proud to share a major milestone in our ongoing commitment to advancing cybersecurity and digital forensics across Africa.
In March 2025, our Principal Consultant, Robinson Tombari Sibe, PhD, FNSE, CCISO, was invited by the Commonwealth Secretariat to serve as a facilitator at two high-impact events held in Seychelles: the Symposium for Criminal Justice Officials on Cybercrime and Electronic Evidence and the Commonwealth Africa Cyber Fellows Meeting.
The Symposium, which took place at Berjaya, Seychelles from 12th–14th March 2025, brought together key stakeholders in criminal justice from across the Commonwealth. Dr. Sibe facilitated two technical sessions:
-
Digital Evidence: From Crime Scene to the Courtroom
-
Setting Up a Digital Forensic Laboratory
These sessions provided participants with practical guidance on the handling of electronic evidence and the requirements for establishing digital forensic capabilities within national criminal justice systems.
Dr. Sibe also facilitated a session at the Commonwealth Africa Cyber Fellows Meeting held in Baie Lazare, Seychelles. This gathering featured 21 Cyber Leaders from 13 African countries and this provided a valuable opportunity to engage with cybersecurity and criminal justice professionals from across the continent and to contribute to strengthening Africa’s cyber resilience.
We appreciate The Commonwealth for extending this honour and commend our colleagues in Seychelles for their warm hospitality.
At Digital Footprints, we remain committed to knowledge sharing, regional collaboration, and capacity building in cybersecurity and digital forensics.
